Words from your Scott Central Rebel Pride Band Director:
The Scott Central High School Rebel Pride Band program is a group that contains 5th through 12th graders. We begin allowing students to march in the 7th grade. We have approximately 68 students in the High School band and 65 in the elementary bands grades 5th and 6th. Mrs. Kathleen Riser also assists with teaching the high school band. She has a degree in Music Education and has taught Band for over 25 years. She is a skilled percussionist who also is our choir director and Elementary music teacher. We are blessed to have her.
In the last two years since I have been the band director we have had overall all superiors in Color guard, Drum line, drum majors, and the band itself. For the last 2 years we have went to state marching championships and have defeated more bands each time we participate. Last year we took the Rebel Pride marching band to Disney World and the students marched at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Fl.
We are very proud this year to have the largest 5th grade beginner band in Scott Central history with almost 50 students participating!!
We hope to see everyone at the Home games cheering the Rebel Pride band on during their halftime show.
Thanks so much,
Mr. Dustin Haley
